As a customer of Layer Four, you should have an understanding of the Internet and must abide by some simple rules and regulations.
A violation of one or more of the policies contained in this agreement and or any Local, State, or Federal Law is grounds for immediate termination of any and all services provided by Layer Four without refund or credit of any kind.
No one owns the Internet and there is no one contact point for it. Layer Four cannot control the information that you might receive while using any Layer Four access service, including DSL, Airlink, or our hotspots, and we do not monitor the data that is transmitted to you.
Because we do not own or control the Internet, Layer Four cannot and does not accept any responsibility or liability for injury to you that results from inaccurate, unsuitable or offensive Internet communications. It is up to you to control your use of this service and to make appropriate use of monitoring software that is available from many third party vendors that can provide filtering and parental control for offensive material.
Layer Four will not permit you or others using your Layer For access service(s) to use this service for any of the following purposes as they violate the terms of your agreement with Layer Four. Spam: Unsolicited, commercial mass emailing to others. Copyright Infringement: Infringement of copyrights held by individuals and corporations or other entities can result in civil and criminal liability. If you use your access service to distribute information, you should be aware of and abide by the laws involving copyrights. Illegal Activity: Any activity that is of an illegal or unlawful nature under the laws of the United States of America or the State of Illinois or any other applicable jurisdiction. Other: Any other activity that Layer Four determines, in our sole discretion, is unethical, or damaging to our other customers, users of the Internet in general, or to our corporate reputation.
All use of this system is by license only, and may be monitored or recorded. Access and modification of system configurations, IP Addresses, and other firmware and system code is permitted only by Layer Four and its authorized personnel. Layer Four and its suppliers reserve all rights to such materials. Use of the system without authority is in violation of contract, and applicable laws, including without limitation, fraud, electronic invasion, infringement, and misappropriation of intellectual property, and security.
Layer Four regularly monitors our network and its use. If we become aware of any violation of the above conditions, we may cancel your account immediately and without notice.
By placing an order with Layer Four and using our services, you are presumed to have accepted this Acceptable Use Policy.
Layer Four shall offer to user, at no charge, general technical assistance via telephone or electronic mail, relating to the usage and operation of the Internet. Layer Four assumes that the user has a basic understanding of their computer. Layer Four will not train user in basic computer skills such as, but not limited to, deleting files, creating directories, and Web site development. Technical assistance at Layer Four's office location is also available, however an hourly rate may apply depending upon the nature of the problem. Layer Four's web server is intended to be used for your personal or business web presentation. It is not intended for holding or presenting unauthorized copyrighted files. Any files, which are owned or copyrighted by another party, are prohibited on our web server. Multiple complaints regarding the abuse of this policy may result in deletion of the file(s) in question.
